Netcraft Server Survey for the month of may 2008 revealed the presence of 168,408,112 sites on the Internet. This information overload makes the job of librarians more important and valuable in finding the authentic web information sources on which the children can trusts.
When we select websites for children special care must be taken. The sites must be authentic and fair according to their age specific information needs. For primary children, the selected sites must generate their curiosity and inquisitiveness.
When it is for teenagers, the fairness is an important factor.
The students should understand the effective searching skills i.e., how to find, evaluate and use the information appaered on a website (applicable for blogs, wikis, etc.).
